Stone Built Barn in Daccombe

Following works to the external of the property the month before and very satisfied customers, our clients came back to us with a new plan of carrying out works to the inside of the property.

“Tectorio have carried out extensive works to this beautiful stone built barn conversion with annex in Daccombe. The property was starting to feel aged and in need of being brought back to life with various elements needing to be replaced, covered or repaired.”

Our client had a budget that they wished to stick to but understood that the works to get the property to where they wanted it would be a substantial undertaking. All works and costings were agreed to before works commenced so that the client and ourselves had a clear scope of works of how far the budget would stretch without any unforeseen costs. The client had certain items that they absolutely wished to change such as internal doors, general decoration of the property and the covering of the artex ceilings that we both felt would dramatically change the aesthetic of the property.

"Brought back to life"

Tectorio workers produced a fantastic finish of this property utilising a variety of tradesmen

Major Redecoration

The expertise of Tectorio workers allowed for a fantastic finish of this property with a variety of tradesmen attending the property. Our Plasterers were the first trade into the property. They prepared ceilings on the ground floor which were artexed and dated. They were able to achieve a finish that lifted the aesthetics of the ground floor and enabled the rooms to feel bigger and much more modern.

Our Electrician attended to supply and fit new lights across the external and internal of the property.

We had a team of Decorators on site for two weeks for the biggest undertaking of the works and they achieved a fantastic finish. The eye for detail in their finish can be seen in the “in progress” photos. Exposed oak beams were covered to ensure no damage, damaged lining paper was removed and repair works carried out to walls before new lining paper was installed. Our client in discussion with our Manager decided that a contrast in the woodwork and doors would be more of a modern approach to the finish. The original, doors, linings, architraves and skirting boards were all pine in finish. It was decided that our decorating team would prepare and decorate all door linings, architraves and skirting boards with a white satin wood finish. As can be seen in the finished photos, the workmanship and finish from the decoration is second to none.

Eye Catching Result

Our Carpenter attended the property to replace all the internal doors. Our client felt that pine doors did not suit the property so decided to cost into their budget to replace these with solid oak doors. Our Manager sourced the doors for the client and liaised with them regarding the ironmongery. Our manager suggested that black details would be a good combination for the doors which our client agreed with following initial thoughts to use brass. Our Carpenter changed 14 doors in total and we must say that they really pulled the job together and finish the project perfectly. Our clients were over the moon with the finish.

Overall, Tectorio but more importantly our client was completely satisfied with the finished works. The house is now a home and has their very own stamp on it with the dated finish now a modern, clean and sharp finish. This property is now most certainly eye catching. It was a pleasure to work on this property and we must say that our clients were absolutely wonderful and a pleasure to deal with. There were many tips handed out for good workmanship as well so I’m sure our staff would say the same also!
